Historic ties between the United States of America and Geneva, Switzerland. November 1-30, 2007, New Building, United Nations.

Presidenet Woodrow WilsonIf you are in the main United Nations building and have time to make a little detour, a mini-exhibition of six 2-meter high banner stands and a digital presentation are on display from November 1 to November 30.  "Connections" is a look at the historic ties between the United States and Geneva.

A fascinating project, this is well-worth seeing, particularly for high school pupils interested in history and America’s role in the Lake Geneva region. Connections looks at the dramatic events, which helped shape a common history, as well as key personalities involved.

The exhibit spans from the time of the Reformation and the “Geneva bible” – which the Pilgrims carried with them to the New World on the Mayflower – to President Wilson’s support for the League of Nations, whose original building now serves as Geneva headquarters for the UN.There are also some small give-aways at the stand, notably a set of posters and postcards.

Connections is located on the first floor of the new building (Door 40) at the entrance to the Serpentine Bar.
