Restaurants (Swiss and French side)

Over the past few decades, the Lake Geneva region has developed a broad and eclectic selection of restaurants ranging from Alsatian and Alpine brasserie fare to Ethiopian, Vietnamese and Afghan cuisine. Quality and costs vary. Unfortunately, certain Swiss restaurants maintain high prices, but with pretentiously disappointing food. Some also charge for tap water. The best deals tend to be over lunch-time, where the Plats de Jours (daily specials) are modestly priced (15 CHF and 30 CHF) and the fare relatively honest. Menus go up in the evenings, sometimes dramatically. Restaurants on the French side are cheaper, but you still have to hunt for the real gems. Scroll down to view the different cuisines.
